Whether you're a recreational or competitive skier, Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Center offers some of the best trails in the world for cross country skiing. Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Center has been the host for the Provincial Championships in Cross Country and Biathlon for 8 years.

In addition to several local ski loppetts, we've hosted the 1999 World Cup in Cross Country Skiing. The European Organizing Committee were very pleased with their choice and claimed that our site was as good as any they had seen.

Our cross country ski trails are abundant and are rated according to ability. We've developed 40 kilometers of cross country and 20 kilometers of skate skiing trails, all professionally groomed.

Lessons and ski rentals are available. Children age 10 and under received free ski rentals. Please phone ahead for rates and reservations.

A trip to Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre would not be complete without a thrilling ride on one of our famous zip lines. This is your chance to fly like Superman! Our 250 meter zip line, extending over a valley, is one of the longest in Canada. The real adventure-seeker will enjoy our new 500-meter zip line, one of the longest in the world.

Many people (yes - even those that are terrified of heights) find this exhilarating ride to be the experience of a lifetime. We've accommodated all ages, from to 2 to 82, all with resounding success.

Safety is always a priority. Instruction is given to every rider. Each system has a double or triple backup, and everyone is buckled into climbing harness equipment that is checked before the rider is hooked up to the zip line.

Enjoy tobogganing, tubing, or telemarking, the Blue Mountain hills. Our 600-meter tubing hill can provide hair-raising thrills for kids and parents alike. Tubes are provided free of charge. Toboggans and skis are available for rent. (Please note that no tow rope is provided for the tobogganing hills.)

Bring your skates and enjoy our large ice skating rink located next to the chalet.

Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Center is part of a province-wide system of snowmobile trails knows as Route 66. The trail, which is regularly groomed, is conveniently located only 1 kilometer from the parking lot. Please note that snowmobiling is not allowed in the ski area.

For the real winter enthusiast, snowshoeing provides a challenging, but rewarding form of recreation. Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Center is the perfect snowshoeing locale, with its many trails and breath-taking scenery. Rentals are available, and tours can be arranged with advance notice.

Spend the day learning more about surviving in the great "cold" outdoors. Our experienced instructors will teach you unique skills, including building a quinzhee and starting a fire in the snow. Please call ahead to arrange group or individual presentations.
